This weekend I had to do a baby girls first birthday cake, and she is a princess so the theme was Princess! I made the tiara from fondant and used some scrolls and stars for a magical look. It was a three tier cake in a pink! The border was icing and since my piping is still not up to par I was not so pleased with it, fondant is much cleaner, but I am getting better so that is a perk! The smash cake was all icing with her initial on it. The first birthday is all about the baby getting to smash into their very own cake so the cake I made for her was quite large with a ton of icing!

Saturday I did my first wedding cake. And I must say I am in love. The stress was bogged down by my love for love & what better way to celebrate than with matrimony. I met with the bride and groom & had our consult a few weeks back. Their selections were butter cake ( my own recipe :)) filled with strawberries & fudge and the middle tier would be filled with strawberries and cream cheese. This cake was very slippery and hard to stack and make perfect. It is a three tier square (6,10, & 14”) which 14” is the biggest I have ever done. I was pretty pleased other than the fondant getting a little hot it was awesome! Enjoy & if their are any questions please ask! :)) confectionately, Liz

Go Bulldogs! University of Georgia Cake.  This cake was one tier filled with strawberries and fudge; the insides of this cake looked so scrumptious! I wish I could have had a piece of this cake.

The red stripes on the sides are made of bC which is different for me because I use alot of fondant accents. The bC is much messier, but the taste is amazing! Fondant gives cakes a much cleaner look though. I believe I am going to stick with fondant accents unless all bC is requested!

The Animal Rescue charity went amazingly! The turn out was great and we raised a lot of money for the clinic! My table turned out cute due to the heat we moved in doors to keep the cake safe! Both the cake and the dog cake went so fast and were enjoyed by many! I was so proud :)) My nephew was a great helper for the day and promoted like crazy, everyone he came into contact with got a menu and business card! Lets just hope the that the message from Puckerup Pastries is quality, individualized confections at affordable prices! Thanks to everyone who came out to support! Here are some pictures of a few things from the day!

The dogs pictured were enjoying the Peanut Butter Carrot cake for K9’s from my last posT! Enjoy, Confectionatly, Liz

Bakes for Dogs.

I have been so BUSY, caking I wish. My burnt hand took a turn for the worse and needs surgery, which is at 7am sharp tomorrow & I have a charity cake to do this week for our local animal rescue! My skills will be down but the taste of the cakes should be the great! Anyways, I decided to make a cake for the dogs. Since i know NOTHING about K9 nutrition, I did a little research and found a recipe for the cake.

K9 Cake Recipe —Peanut Butter & CarroTs!

1 Cup Flour

1 Cup grated carrot

1 Teaspoon Vanilla

1/4 Cup honey

1/4 Peanut Butter

1/4 Cup Oil

1 Egg

1 Teaspoon Baking Soda

Mix flour and soda together first then add the rest, bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

The recipe smelt my house up with a delightful peanut buttery aroma! It was great. As for the taste ( and yes I tasted it) not so much my flavor. I let my shitzu Pooch test the cake out. She sniffed around for a few minutes and decided it was safe. Later, I added and peanut butter & cream cheese icing, and decorated with milkbones! Here are some pictures!

ouch,  i burnt my hand frying chicken, now i have cadaver skin covering my right hand and right side. Yuck! I can not do a thing with my cakes for a few weeks. I actually had to cancel a cake for this weekend which broke my heart! Hopefully I will be functioning by the end of the month and ready for the charity animal rescue cake that I have going on the weekend of the 29th! Here are some pictures of my hand immediately after burning it!

Here is my version of the Xbox Console & Controller. The Console I used fondant and it turned out a little sloppy! This cake was made for a friends 21st birthday! The heat made the fondant wilt so I have made my fondant recipe a little more sturdy to accommodate the weather since! As for the controller i used all butter cream with exception of the buttons! Sorry i cant type more, i burnt my hands and has surgery so no caking this week!

Here is a picture of my first Zebra cake! This design is so popular! I used my zebra wallet as a guide for the print and winged the rest. It turned out cute. The little girl was turning 14 so I had to whip up another number for the cake! The inside is filled with a typical yellow cake and butter cream. This cake was very fun. I pulled out my cricut cake and went to work on the letters. I also made my very own gum paste for the first time! And I should say it is absolutely amazing! I am working on a recipe page so I will post the recipe for homemade gum paste soon!
